James M. Kettler, EFO, CFPS was appointed to the Board of Directors in May of 2008. Mr. Kettler has been active in the emergency services for over 25 years. Born and raised in Fairless Hills, Mr. Kettler spent 10 years as an active member of the Fairless Hills Fire Department, serving five years as Assistant Chief. Mr. Kettler worked as the Fire Inspector in Falls Township and was the first fulltime Fire Marshal appointed in Plumstead Township. In 1998, he received the "Community Environmental Excellence Award" from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for his "proactive activities as Fire Marshal regarding environmental and safety compliance." In his role as Fire Marshal for Plumstead Township, Mr. Kettler also served as the Emergency Management Coordinator and Director of Emergency Services. Jim is an active member of the Bucks County Hazardous Incident Response Team and has over 10 years of service. After serving six years as Chief, he stepped down in 2008, and was appointed Deputy Chief. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's acclaimed Executive Fire Officer Program. A certified fire instructor, Jim is an adjunct instructor for the National Fire Academy. He is also an instructor for the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center and an associate instructor for the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy. He has an Associate's Degree in fire science and received the Mainzer Award for "scholarly achievement in Fire Science." Mr. Kettler is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist and is also a New Jersey certified Fire Official. He holds numerous other fire and emergency certifications. Mr. Kettler currently works for Buckingham Township. In addition to his duties as Fire Marshal and Emergency Management Coordinator, he was recently promoted to the Director of Building and Codes. Mr. Kettler was appointed as the Chairperson of the Wrightstown Township Technical Code Review Board. Jim resides with his family in Doylestown. |
